Snowflake obsidian is formed from obsidian (a natural volcanic glass) with white flecks of cristobalite. Cristobalite has the effect of calming emotional waves. It removes negative energy, eases loneliness and heals a broken heart.
Obsidian is a stone of transformation and purification. It can bring grief to the surface to be dealt with. Snowflake obsidian is grounding and stabilising.
